The GIS Training Workshop for MOH staff was held on 29-31 May 2018 in Hanoi, Vietnam through the collaboration of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, Esri Vietnam, and Health GeoLab Collaborative.
The objectives of the training workshop were to:
- Strengthen the management and use of geospatial data and technologies within the Ministry of Health of Vietnam
- Sustain the use of the Esri software bundles sponsored by Asian Development Bank (ADB)
The training workshop aimed to teach the participants the complete process of creating good thematic maps. The sessions therefore covered the topics of 1) understanding the context of the map to be created, 2) compiling and preparing the necessary data, and 3) creating the thematic map itself.
Some emphasis were given in teaching the participants how to use Esri technology (Survey123, ArcGIS Desktop and Online) to collect data in the field and creating thematic maps.
The materials from the training workshop are available for download below. Each activity consists of a slide presentation and/or reference material/exercise data. The slide presentations are either in the English or Vietnamese language while all the reference materials are in English. Kindly check below which topics are presented in each language.
We would like to acknowledge Esri Vietnam for allowing us to share these training materials.
